PAN Card Lost : What to do?

1. The way to go about retrieving your lost PAN Card is firstly paying a visit to your nearest Police Station and lodging a complaint stating that your PAN card is lost or missing.

Be sure to get an acknowledgment/complaint copy for future references for your 'PAN Card Lost Application'.

2. Thereafter, write a letter addressed to the Income Tax Department requesting it to issue a duplicate PAN card.

PAN Lost: New PAN Card Application Form

PAN Card Lost : Steps After You've Filled the Form

1. Make payment as you complete filling the form. On successful confirmation of the payment, all you have to do now is to take a printout of the acknowledgment receipt as it appears on the screen. Send it to the said address within 15 days of online application:

“National Securities Depository Limited,

3rd Floor, Sapphire Chambers,

Pune – 411045”.

2. The said receipt should be accompanied by the (1) FIR/ complaint copy; (2) a self-attested passport size photo; (3) valid address proof; (4) valid self-attested identity proof; (5) PAN proof (the printout of the receipt available at here will suffice)

PAN Lost : Important Points

1. Ensure that you write “APPLICATION FOR PAN CHANGE REQUEST- Acknowledgment Number” on the envelope which you are sending to NSDL.
